Clifton Hill Studio & Laundry Addition

At the rear of an existing Clifton Hill home, a new self contained building was added adjoining the rear lane. This garage (including laundry) and first floor self contained studio added some very much needed multi purpose space to an otherwise small home. Working alongside the building designer (Mesh Design + Projects) we provided input right from the start of the building design process, to ensure the interior needs were optimised. Window positioning and sizing, location of joinery and access are all important considerations for interiors as well as the exterior, and are better able to be influenced before permits are obtained.

The calm and practical interiors make for a beautiful work from home office, that could later be changed to a guest or teenager retreat. The new laundry in the downstairs garage features more ply and lots of storage, with some beautiful detailing like the black handles and a Japanese tiled splashback.

There is nothing flashy about these interiors, all the joinery is laminate and they are small spaces, but the overall impact has been life changing for our clients.
